Sept 11, 2001 Banner...

This Sept 11th banner was part of my therapy for dealing with this tragedy. Here is the meaning behind the design.

The three stars represent the three airplanes. Each is distorted, reflecting the country's stress and anguish.  The blue field represents the field in Pennsylvania where our fellow Americans made the ultimate sacrifice and brought their plane down to save others. The red stripes represent the blood of those who lost their lives, both in the air and those on the ground fighting to save others. The white stripes are the tears of those of us left behind. The banner as a whole represents our country through its close resemblance to our flag. The weaving together of the many colors and shapes shows the strength and unity of our many diverse peoples. As it flies in the lightest of breezes, it reflects the resiliency and durability we have as a nation and people to the changing winds of time

Here you can see it in the Banner Store.
